adding some roses

Img_3289_1

So, this was the other option for the other directors chairs, some Cath Kidston washed roses fabric – this has been sitting in my fabric box for nearly 3 years.  I have been too scared to cut it, I just keep getting it out and stroking it and then folding it back up again, trying to fold it in the same creases, putting it back in the plastic and stashing it away.  Not that I am a huge Kidston fan – everything in Kidston seems to me a bit much, but the lined baskets are to die for (they should be at that price) and I am about to order one from their sale.  I’m loving Greengate more but of course IKEA is always, oh about a fifth of the price

Your fabric is gorgeous! Another thing I think we have in common. I buy beautiful fabrics but just tend to look at and admire them, open them and refold them in the same way (very important, lol) and I’m always too scared to cut them.

I think it’s because I’ve started sooo many projects in the past and not finished them and the fabric goes to waste… so not a good thing!

Anyway, now I try not to cut anything until I know exactly what I’m going to do with it and I’m prepared to see it through to the end and not give it up halfway from boredom. Most of the fun is in the designing for me, I just need to find a good machinist and I’ll be right!!!

I have small stashes of a few vintage pretty fabrics… not much time (or the heart) to cut into them! lol

I will email you later on today as I am off to my girl’s 8th b’day party (everyone rsvp’d YES, so I have my hands full this afternoon)! lol =)

Hey girlie… I can’t get my email to you through. I get those “return mailer daemon” messages. Please email when you have a moment to stitchintyme9 @ aol. =)

  4. That fabric is just so pretty. I know how you feel about cutting up pretty fabric. I do the same thing drives my Hubby nuts. So just go for it think of how beautiful it will look in the end. Have fun with, and have a great day.

    Hi

Thanks for your lovely comments again. I love the joke about the beer – it was very funny! There is, I agree, nothing like a nice glass of wine on the beach in the early evening. I think I have blogged about it before/owned up to doing a bit of rock pooling with a glass of wine in my hand! I agree I prefer Greengate stuff too. Over here the Cath Kidston stuff that she designed for Ikea sells at a really high price on ebay. I am embarrassed to say that I once cut a duvet up to cover a swing chair that was on our roof terrace – needless to say that the fabric gradually rotted – I can hear sharp intakes of disapproving breath all around right now! Doh! Have a lovely weekend. Look forward to reading more from you. Love Emmax

Forgot to say that the wrapping area is in my tiny little conservatory at the back of our house – the space is mine all mine! Have not done enough with it at the moment but hopefully in September will be able to do more as my third child starts Reception. I will need lots of things to keep me busy to stop me missing them all so much – I LOVE them being at home – please remind me I said this when I am in week 9 of their summer holiday! Love Emma x!
