It’s the school holidays and I am making the MOST of a lie-in. I have never, ever been a morning person, I can’t, to be honest, see me being one, however if I do get up early I love the stillness and quiet of that time of day. My very favourite thing in the hols is after MrBeachCottage’s alarm goes off, turning over and snoozing another hour or so. The beach cottage bed is a cheap as chips repro bought in super-quick time otherwise we would have slept on the floor, turns out it has been one very good decision, so comfy and such a retreat. I like the bed to be simple, I can’t be doing with too much fussing and over-styling, it has to be cotton, the highest thread count I can find on sale and of course, it has to be white. After spending way too much time in linen stores lately to buy the beach cottage kidlets new bedding, I’ve decided that some cushions would be a welcome addition to foof it up a bit…off to hunt…

I am so in agreement about the “under dressed” bed…I’ll admit that years ago I liked the whole multiple pillow look (European squares in the back etc), but it’s impractical. I like high quality white sheets, a nice quilt and 2 pillows.
I read that Jodi Foster is a nice and humble celebrity, but her only quirk and hotel “must have” is white sheets. She said she just has a thing for white sheets and I agree…cool and crisp at first and then sooo soft later.
Oh, and cool pillow case is a must! I turn my pillow over and over as I settle in because I love the cool fabric against my face.

but I forgot to mention all the lavender! hahahahhaha! He I’m just now noticing reluctant entertainer is in Green Bay..we’re neighbors well about 4 hours between us! If you look down that street do you see those yellow for sale signs??? come on move here! hahahahah ! we could walk together every morning to the coffee shop and take pictures! xo
