Happy Saturday guys! Phew made it through another week, hoorah.
Just a quick little post this morning.
I have oh just a few sporting commitments today, those Beach Cottage Kiddos, me and Mr BC all out and about sporting…and collapsing at the end of the day.
I'm revisiting my lovely old dresser for Emma's Heirloom Event – she emailed me and it got me to thinking about heirlooms – though this has only been with me a while, I've gotten really attached to it, other people buy pets when their babies get a bit older, I get old furniture. You can read about the complete quandary I was in over whether to leave it as it was, a most wonderfully faded patina of pink or slap on my beachy white here and read here how she kept her colour and made the Breakfast Room her new home…
Well I'm supposing there could be a lot worse things to be addicted to…
I won't then mention my late-night penchant for browsing Book Depository, hitting buy and when a few days later at the mailbox in my pj's finding a delightful little surprise, mmm mmm

Enjoy the weekend, I may well be back here later…pop on over to Emmas Place for the partay…

and if you lurve things pink, take a look at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound, athough I'm not participating this week, I missed it, you'll find a whole bevvy of gorgeous things to eyeball in pink…
and you'll find the Book Depository, here – free shipping anywhere in the world, if you're in Australia, you won't believe how great this place is!

Hello Sarah – thank you for joining the party! You know how much I love this dresser. I’m so thankful you have it in your home and have taken such great care of it! And I’m so proud of you that you backed away from the paint and the urge to make it white. She looks so fabulous just the chippy pink that she is. I really love the grouping you’ve done – the shells, flowers, candle and books look so charming! The photos on the mirror look so cool. Love it!
Blessings,
Marie
You were so right to keep it that lovely shade of pink. It’s charming!
I also meant to say I have just come across your blog and have spent ages reading your posts and looking at your amazing photos. I love it all!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I want to crawl right it… so soothingly serene – thank you for sharing.
~Tracie
LOVE LOVE LOVE the dresser… and your entire blog!
I’ve saved it to my favorites… so you’ll probably see me back here often
Oh, it’s good you didn’t touch her, she’s perfection! And her pale faded perfect pink fits in well with your home!
All the best,
Eileen
Hey, my dear Sarah! I’m so behind this week & can never stay caught up with everyone. I adore your pale pink dresser & glad you left her alone. And WOW, at the neato shutters you made and hung with LN…I love them!
Sarah, you’re right… it’s become your heirloom & someday the BC children & the spouses will squabble over rights. I still giggle thinking about all the input you received.
I just found your blog and I love it. The dresser is lovely. I also wanted to invite you to participate in my giveaway. It started today and it will go on until Monday. Have a wonderful weekend!
I just love your white chairs at the dining table every time I see them!!!
And getting books in the mail when you forget to expect them… what a treat!! I am working on squeezing in the R and R, and add in a 3rd R for reading…
Check out the cute Miami Mediterranean architectural beauties I posted today…so sweet.
That is so lovely because it’s not really pink ( I’m afraid that pink is one of my least favourite colours) it’s the palest, palest hardly pink…Lovely XXXX
I loved this when you first found it – I’m so glad you kept it the way it is.
I have an heiloom dresser both my Dad and Gradfather painted at one point or another. I loved this post, thank you.
I still am lovin’ this ole pink dresser!!
I LOVE it this soft, soft pink! Is it wonderful getting a great new book in the mail…now if I only had time to read them.
Looks lovely in the breakfast room Sarah. I have a dresser in my office for storage, one in the dining room that I use as a buffet and to store linens, and one in the living room for the tv/storage ! I don’t know what I ever did without them in the little cottage.

Hi, I just found your blog and it is wonderful, I love your pretty dresser x
I love your pink dresser and I think it was a good idea to leave it as is. The patina is just perfect on it.
Hi Sarah I am so glad you did leave the dresser pink and not the white I thought you should do. Cos, I really, really love it as it is.

Beatifull pictures…

I’m so glad you left it pink, I think it looks so lovely sitting in the corner like that. Dressers are versatile pieces, I have a new (to me) one that I must find a place for. I love to play house and I see that you do too. Hugs, ~cindy s~
swoon!

Far worse addictions. You have to find spice in life. Some people gamble for jollies. Some, well, you know. Get out and ABOUT. For some it’s taking chances. Maybe when I was young. Now it’s all about home and things I pick up along the way that carries meaning for me. For whatever reason. Cherish those old things, because you may well be the most they’ve ever been loved, Sarah.

Well I didn’t buy furniture, I bought the dog, lol… and believe me, furniture is much easier to look after though not as cute to cuddle
. Hope you had a great weekend of sport and relaxation! Now I think I’ll go and look at all the pink!
What a beautiful dresser, Sarah. I love the lines and the shade. You did such a lovely job styling it as well!
