We really enjoyed our camping trip the other weekend, it was great to head North and see a bit more of Australia… if not a waterlogged one.
The sun finally came out at the end though
We got a little window to sneak off and do some thrifting…I thought you might like to see a true old Aussie Op-Shop. I hadn't seen one quite as authentic as this before (op-shop stands for Opportunity Shop – thrift/charity/hospice shop to those of you who don't know). Inside were two real old Aussie grandmas chatting and serving behind the counter, who charged me 20 cents for a vintage untensil. Two sweet.
Incidentally my English style windbreaker got its first outing. And went down well with the Aussies in the party
. How funny they hadn't heard of a windbreak.
The sun tried to peep through lots of times.
Finally on the last day, it was the Australia we have come to expect…
I took some video for { Beach Cottage TV } …you can view it here (and find more Beach Cottage TV here)
and…we have a winner! Aubree, from The Weathered Cottage has some beautiful cushions on her way…from the wonderful Coastal Cushions giveaway, congrats!

I'm stopping by tomorrow with a tablescape…pop in!
blogged for outdoor wednesday over at Susan's, thanks!

looks so inviting!!!
You have my heart. It looks like it might be a while before I make the move. My husband have parents that need to be taken care of and there is too much guilt if we leave them behind. I will just keep watching you live my future life down in Australia. Love, Heidi
shut up!!! thanks so much sarah, you rock! I have NEVER won anything from a giveaway before
I need some beach.
You came to Forster. Hey that is where I live. Totally recognised the op shop although it is certainly not our best. And the sea pool known locally as the bullring because years and years ago there used to be a slf serve kiosk or some such thing there called by that name. The windbreaker looks like a great idea -d efinitely windy most of the time here. Cherrie
I have been to your country to visit…Sydney, Melbourne and 10 days in Perth. Enjoyed every minute of my visit. Beautiful country.

Glad to see you heading north Sarah – just a little bit further and you could have visited me too. I think the wind break was a great idea and very useful this past windy weekend.

Looks amazing there – love your windbreak, remember using them on the beach in Torquay (Devon of course, not OZ) when the wind was off the bay!
