A Beach Cottage Behind the Scenes Project Peak

IMG_6991p

G'day.

After the scorcher yesterday, we awoke this morning to cooling drizzly rain and grey skies.

The dinner went well, a nice evening, we didn't get to bed til 1am.

We've been down the beach for the morning and this evening we have other lovely friends over and guess what, I'm doing exactly the same meal as last night, save swapping out the chicken for pork.

Anyway, thought, I'd tease you with a 'before' post.

Any takers for what this pink tinged frame I found was turned into?

Yes lurkers that means you have to hit the comment button ;-)

And no that is not chalkboard paint…

And that, my friends is it for now, I will see you all bright and early tomorrow for another week of Beach Cottage tales…?

I may well have another giveaway, I am peculiarly into that…

See you next time…

Sarah

Ok, I confess, I am a lurker. Been following your blog in my reader for a while now :) Love it by the way, especially being a fellow Aussie.

So my guess… if it isn’t chalkboard paint, could it be magnetic paint? Maybe a magnetic message board?

  2. Nadine says:

Mmh intriguing! Is it a backsplash for the kitchen maybe?

  3. I’m clueless. But, it’s early and I’m still on coffee #1.

  4. hmm so maybe a frame for mixed pieces of vintage lace or your crotchet collection … maybe just show us :) best le

  5. Flick says:

I think the magnetic paint was a good guess, but I reckon it could also be a photo collage board??
    Catch ya! :)

  6. Jackie says:

Same as Suzann above clueless and #1 cup of java. lol.

  7. donna says:

Really no idea! I can only guess it’s the first coat of something and it will not stay that color? like I said no idea!

  8. carolyn says:

I really have no idea – one of those subway art signs (that’s what it would be if it was going into my house)? I haven’t even had coffee #1 yet so maybe I’ll come up with something later.

  9. Bev says:

I think that you loved the shape and you not sure yourself :) Suspense !!

  10. I have no clue!!! Hmmm … I think the magnetic paint is a good call. Or your going to paint “Dell from Hell” on it and hold it up at public events? (Kidding!)

  11. Frau Mayer says:

Aaaaargh! That chair again! I’m planning a robbery, keep it in mind. The least you can do to prevent it is to tell more bout where such chairs are found/how they are made.

  12. Trish says:

i love your aesthetic. i could never get away with so much white (i have four dogs), but i love being able to enjoy your serene white space. thank!

  13. susan says:

a tray? looking forward to seeing it!

  14. Kat says:

Hmm, the magnetic paint sounds like it could be a possibility, or the tray idea. I was thinking that maybe you “back” painted the glass to create a matte for a piece of artwork?

I’m no good at this guessing stuff…sometimes even the obvious eludes me!

    Kat :)

  15. desiree says:

I have no clue unless you are sing the black to make it look older and will fade it away after… I have not seen many black in your house so I just be patiend and will wait wat comes out of it.

The thing like it is now is pretty as well!
    have a good week.

G’Day~ To funny Lurkers…….My daughter calls me a blog creeper.I tell her that’s what it’s there for us creepers who are very curious creatures.

I’m excited to see what your new Treasure is.I will be lurking in the shadows.LOL

    Enjoy~Kim

  17. Bella Casa says:

Were you just teasing us with all that black paint cause it looks like a chalk board idea. Only I’m guessing that you aren’t planning on leaving the frame black…just using it as a base color for antiquing. Too flat to be a tray so I’m gonna go either chalk board or collage art with something vintage over the black background.

  18. Madison says:

The first thing that came to my mind was magnetic paint!

  19. fairmaiden says:

Can’t wait!!!! The softness of the framed lady in white image is so romantic.

  20. I need more clues??
What did you do with the art work?
    Off to have coffee #1.

  26. Holly W says:

I’m not sure. I’ve been a lurker and wanted to break that habit. It was pretty the way it was, but I’m sure you’ve got something wonderful up your sleeve. Thank you for helping me step out from behind the screen.

  27. Michelle says:

Hmm I’m thinking one of those bus scroll signs that are very cool at the moment .I want one myself.

  28. Esther says:

Guilty as charged. Lurked here! I will take a guess that u will make a bulletin board. I think you black things make a great contrast in limited amounts. Love all your ideas.

  29. Linda Jacobs says:

Intriguing guesses but I have no idea.

Just wanted to say how gorgeous your beach shots are! My god, I so want to be there! Look at those waves! I’m green with envy!

  30. Laura says:

Hmmm, I’m going for one of those trendy signs with bus/train/subway destinations. I’m sure whatever you do will be stunning. Love your blog.

  31. Lyn says:

Ooooooooh I know what you are doing Sarah…your gonna turn it into a bus blind with beachy destinations…..Im right I know I am…because I CHEATED & read your last post first….Bahahahahaha

Just when I had decided to go completely with white and tan decor, you throw in black! Looks awesome and I shamelessly hope to copy it! :) Somehow I don’t think Canadian beach spots will make the grade…might have to be a pretend Aussie on this one or even a Californian. :)

  35. Theresa Collins says:

Hi Sarah as usual I am blown away by how clever you are. I to have coveted one of these. I will have a go not that confident though. Did you print onto black paper? Keep up the great work!!!

    Regards,

Theresa.(ps happy Australia day from a little South Aussie)
