Hello fellow water lovers, today I thought we'd go on a little daytrip.
I've always loved going out for days, and luckily Mr Beach Cottage and the Kiddos like nothing better too. Since those early days in England when Mr Teenage BC was a tiny baby, we would pack up a change bag, a picnic and head off for the day to the coast or up to London, or strap him to the back of Mr BC's bike and head out through the woods for a bike ride to a local village pub, set back on the green.
What we certainly didn't realise when we upped sticks and moved to Australia from the other side of the world, was just how many fabulous places there would be to spend a day in, right on our doorstep.
Getting away from it all here, is really very easy, we can jump in the car, roll down the windows, turn on the radio and hit any number of breathtaking beaches, National Parks or bush…
So lets get ourselves on a Beach Cottage Daytrip then, shall we?
how about we take a ferry ride?
from a local wharf…
actually let's phone a taxi?
hop aboard
messing about on the water…
drop us off with the locals…
a great way to travel…
slip off those old summer shoes on the deck
paddle past the Water Taxi office
say G'day to the Fire Crew
vintage Sarah Candy about every which way…
back home again.. .
Well I hope you enjoyed our little Daytrip?
I'll say G'day for now, enjoy Friday guys and gals
See you soon

I love these pics…wish I were on a day trip like this!
Wow! Can I come and live with you? We are having some very cold and windy weather here in the South of the U.S.A. And, I’m nowhere near a beach. Beautiful day trip photos.
Your neck of the woods looks lovely-your photos make it easy to enjoy a daytrip vicariously! TGIF (almost here)
Lovely day for sure Sarah. It is wonderful to see the sun shining over the blue water. XoXo, Li
Thank you for taking us along on your sunny day trip, I loved the photos!
Kat
Sarah thanks for taking us with you. Nothing like a daytrip in our beautiful country.
Alison
It’s sunshine and 60 degrees in my neck of the woods so if I try hard I can imagine your beautiful view right here!
Hi Sarah, you take a great photo! You must have a good camera. I need to visit you though with trips like that!
Thank you Sarah! I needed a lovely day trip, it made me smile. So beautiful, love that blue water. Have a wonderful weekend. We are gearing up for another snow storm (our 12th in 2 months). Suppose to be a doozy. We will really appreciate Spring.
I miss Sydney!!!!
Looks like a terrific trip! Certainly a nice break from the cold we’re going through here in Ohio!
Wonderful Post today! Australia is so cool! Or should I say HOT since it is summer down under. Your post today has inspired me to take a look around and see what interesting things I can find here. After all I live 2 blocks from the ocean to the east and 2 blocks from the river to the west. I guess when you live in the same place almost all your life you tend to take the sights for granted. Only 23 more days and then I can devote myself to perfecting my “blogging skills”.
I can hardly wait till I can post my water and sailboat shots for you to see. That’s the fun in blogging…sharing our surroundings with people on the other side of the world.
Thanks!
Felt like I was there—great images.
Why am I not there?!
It looked divine.
Lara
Lovely Sarah,
It’s so pretty where you live. We too take advantage of the water taxis in the summer. Sometimes it’s fun just to ride them back and forth across the harbor, and then stop for a burrito at the beach taco stand. Yum. You probably eat something else, but still the idea is the same!
Your sunny day made our very foggy one today look really pitiful! I am seriously craving some long sunny days and weeks! (Seriously, the Dr. gave me a prescription for 1/2 hour in the sun every day, due to vit. D deficiency, can you believe that?!)
Have a wonderful weekend. Of course I hope you will pick my name in the drawing!
XO

Thanks for reminding me HOW MUCH i LOVE Aus…
xx andrea
Not too shabby my friend, look at all that blue water and sunshine!
Oh what I’d give to spend a day out in the sun and on the watter. Sigh, have to be patient.
thanx as always
this time for the reminder of what is literally on my doorstep
and memories of teenage parties on that island
gorgeous photos
~justine~
Fun photos from your day trip, we truely are lucky down under to have all these adventures on the door step.
That was very enjoyable…thank you! Year after year I am tiring of the cold New England winters which stretch way too far into spring. Going to get my honey to read your story and maybe he’ll want to move too!!
lovely photos! yet again i am left longing for the warmth and sunshine of oz instead of the cold bleakness of the uk x
Oh that looks like so much fun. We still have snow here! I want to live in Australia! I wonder if my husband would go for it. hehe
I’m going to freeze but today I’m going to open my windows and let some fresh air in this winter prison. I just can’t wait one more minute for some spring! Yesterday I think I lost my mind all together when I spray painted a frame in my laundry room! I know how bad that is but it couldn’t wait. I won’t do it again? Thank you for the day trip. I’m going to go now and practice patience! <3
I had such a fun time!
Thank you!
Next time I’ll pack bum sandwiches and we’ll have lunch while we ride!
annie
It is so beautiful there. This summer I am going to go on adventures and try to find hidden treasures here where I live.
When I saw the water my heart went pitter patter! Thanks for this little escape during first block while my students are doing vocabulary work!
Great photos – lovely daytrip!
Thanks for taking me along, I needed that!
Here’s to a great weekend -
Marsha
I love your water, wave, ocean, splashing photos. The color of the water is so beautiful. Thank you so much for such a treat.
Oh these photos are beautiful Sarah, I enjoyed watching them and in the meantime I imagined how it would be like being there. Hm. Heaven (?)
I am absolutely freezing here today as we have been covered in a new pile of snow. I can almost feel the warmth from your pictures, thank you.
What a beautiful place to take a day trip. I love seeing the water with all the tree-covered hills in the background. Wish I was there!
I think the Australian Tourism Commission should put you commission! ;-D
Every time I read one your “scenic” posts, my feet start to get itchy!

sighs wistfully…
