Easter Giveaway & Beach Cottage Anniversary

G'day all.  Thanks for the comments on me & Vron, we rock ya know.

This started off very much as a rambling post, in my usual style, where I witter on about inconsequential stuff, more often than not throw in the odd Grumpy Old Beach Cottage comment and try, and usually fail, to intersperse humour into something as serious as home decor ;-)

So, rather than ramble on like that I cut much of it out and instead give you the scaled down version…culminating in what is essentially, hopefully, eye candy for Easter and giving away stuff.

Double Layer Vintage Mirrors & Playing with Oars & Cameras

100p

G'day sweet blog friends, well thank you for the comments on the pics and my errrm sweet face.  I will leave it at that.

Today I had planned on doing some pottering in the garden but ended up here in the Sitting Room with the oars…I just couldn't leave them alone…they were simply calling me this morning…Vron, the Twins and some old hazy vintage mirrors found on a recent jaunt and it all got too much.

I needed to sit and shoot.  And that, my lovelies, is exactly what I did.

Beach Cottage Vintage Treasure Hunting Tour

075p

Hi girls.  Hope your weekend was good, ours was busy with kiddos things and digging garden beds but it seems that early Saturday morning has become a time when Mr Beach Cottage and I go out for a coffee and some breakfast and a tad of vintage hunting.

This week we found ourselves a good few treasures including a lovely old vintage trunk, a scruffy old weathered watering can and something that's been on my Most Wanted List f o r e v e r some old Australian flags.

Oh and Mr BC got his hands on the camera…and while Grumpy Old Beach Cottage Woman has certainly been abundantly in residence over the last few days, I did manage a few smiles…

Beach Cottage Postcards from Treasure Hunting ~ Colclough Vintage China

To be honest, though it's far from unique I still have this love affair with vintage china, it's just a tad unfullfilled living in Australia.  Not that the availability of delights from the potteries of Staffordshire and the Old Country are not here, it's just they are somewhat inaccessible and that takes away the fun.

A Beach Cottage Pear Love, Q & A + The Notebook Blog!

It was a funny old day yesterday – getting up at 3am and talking to people on the other side of the world while they are pleasantly enjoying their mid-afternoon often does that to you…perhaps that's why too that today I find myself taking pictures and rambling on about the joys of a bucket of pears.

After the school drop-off I stopped off at the flower market, my once a week foray into all things flowers, not a huge selection, but just enough to let me play.

To get to the flowers I have to walk past fruit, piles of all manner of lovelies, and delicious veggies that in England one could perhaps only dream of having in such abundance and selection.

Just at the flowers there were buckets of pears…lots of buckets of pears.  Now don't ask me why there were shed loads of the things desperately trying to rid themselves of the plastic buckets and get themselves to the checkout PDQ, but there were.

And they caught my eye.  The uniform perfection served up by Mother Nature herself woo-ed me, smooth firm skin unmarked by age or time or life…a bit like me really.  Guffaw.
