Beach Cottage Frangipanis, Vosges Paris & Press from the Netherlands

G'day Beach Cottage Babes, hope you are all feeling fine and dandy?

I was recently delighted to discover that there was a press mention of this here beachy vintage cottage blog where I spend my days floating around in Flea Market Coastal style ;-)

Vosges Paris

Desiree of the most wonderful eye candy blog Vosges Paris sent me an email to say that her online place was about to be featured in ariadne at Home and she had mentioned me as one of her fave blogs (along with one of the Monarchs of White Style Bloggers Aina at Modern Country) and would I like it if she sent me a copy of the magazine?

Well blow me down with a feather!

Would I like to see my little cottage blog mentioned as an inspiration in cold hard print on the other side of the world.

Oh yes please.

And all I can say is, there is nothing quite like opening a beautifully packaged magazine from the depths of Europe (wrapped with a personal little note just for me)…

…turning the pages of pure eye candy and becoming intoxicated by the romance of the unfamiliar text and the peek into a world of white brocante and then to come face to face with a mention of your blog many thousands of miles away on the beaches of Australia.

There are many things that blogging has given me and this act of kindness sure is one of them.

I cannot say thank you enough to Desiree and her thoughtful package couldn't have come at a better time, funny how that happens isn't it?

After a run of incidents recently whereby I had begun to think that there was no-one left in the world who is actually happy to do something for you without expecting something in return I can only say that this has proved to me that there are people who are willing and happy to spread a little love around.

I thought I'd throw in a few frangipanis too…nothing better really than some good old Aussie faves from  the garden and a Euro magazine to waste away a few hours when one should be doing laundry ;-)

OK, I am soo outta here… heading down the beach for a run, surely my legs need it ….make sure you stop by soon, I've some eye candy for ya ;-))

Sarah

and thanks to those who emailed me about Cottage of the Month…

Enjoy your magazine…Country Living is one of my fav!!! And I’m bit envious for Jeanne D’Arc Living… in Italy is impossible to find…. Hugs, Zaira

  8. Sarah..Congrats on both the mention and being chosen for the Cottage of the Month. I’ve been MIA for a few days due to computer issues, which made me wonder how the Dell from Hell situation worked out. Maybe I missed it. Anywho, don’t work those legs too hard, you might need them during a treasure hunt. Enjoy your day!

  9. Ruby Wand says:

Thanks!! Have fun on the beach!!!

  12. So exciting!! What a wonderful thing for you! The flowers and pictures are stunning as always.. Have a great day!

  13. frangipanis, ahhh, how lovely! their stunning colours are only outmatched by their intoxicating fragrance!

reminds me of our weekend jaunts to Coffs Harbour for the weekend (when we lived in Armidale)

  14. Congratulations Sarah!!! That is awesome and wow in a beautiful magazine!!! You deserve it both your home and your blog are absolutely beautiful!!! Beth

  15. I’m surprised that you are surprised that people love your website. It is beautiful and I’m glad you are getting recognition!

Seeing your frangipanis up close I knew they were plumerias (lucky you having some you can pick, they don’t grow in Virgina) and so I searched online because I am a nerd and look! We are both right!:)

From wiki:The common name “Frangipani” comes from an Italian noble family, a sixteenth-century marquess of which invented a plumeria-scented perfume. Many English speakers also simply use the generic name “plumeria”.

  16. Congratulations, again, twice in one week! Your little cottage is becoming quite notorious! You have a lovely blog. You couple great photography with sweet white decor, you top it off with a sense of humor and you are gauranteed a winner! Hugs, Cindy S

  17. Awe, congrats!!! That is so VERY exciting! You’re just getting all kinds of happy thoughts coming at you right and left — good for you! =) Seriously though, you definitely deserve it. Your blog is one of MY faves as well!!!

  18. Congratulations on both! Of course your cottage is getting some more notice. It is well deserved.

  20. What a great compliment to you Sarah. Congratulations!

I’ve never heard of Frangipanis, but I’m so glad you shared them with us. They are beautiful!

  21. Great compliment to what you have developed here and the loyal fan base of lovers of beach cottages from all over. Nothing like a touch of frangipanis to add to the tropical air.

  22. Good things happen to good people Sarah…so you must be very good! Congratulations and thanks for the frannies too…they are part of my earliest childhood memories but sadly it’s too cold to grow them here. Sniff.
