Yo.
How you cooking?
Well, we my friends, are cooking in Sydney for sure…you know those days when it’s so hot everything kinda sticks to…everything? This would be one of those.
So anyway, this morning after a long walk by the sea, skateboarding child in tow and 200 of my 350 squats which nearly left me as a passenger on said skateboard, my plan was to get to it with the study, which is coming along slowly but surely…
…that didn’t happen though ‘cos I went out to find the old vintage suitcases that I painted yesterday arvo and was so pleased with the one that I used chalkboard paint on that I decided I would much rather play with that..
Here’s how it looked before

and after
I have no idea why I wrote Lucky Day on it…I’m guessing today in all it’s glory I feel lucky to be down here…it will eventually have something else written on it and hold old papers if it makes it from here into the study…

Miss BC and I also played around with photography and my new lens, seeing as this is the last day of the hols for her, we thought we’d have some fun….trying to be creative… love doing this with her…
…errrm yeah p’haps woulda been a good idea if it was the younger member of the party who got up on the chair to be photographed…but stuff it, who cares heh?

we did laugh when I stood on the chair and one of the slats of wood broke…
Anyhoo, I gotta run..it’s back to school schedules ’round here, I must say that’s more taxing in this heat…
Let me know what you think of my chalkboard vintage suitcase…I haven’t seen them out & about anywhere else so I hope you like it!
yours in paint and vintage processing…
p.s. get your photos ready for Good Life Wednesdays this week…

gorgeous photos, I love the brightness of them!
Well done with the chalkboard make over.
Have been experimenting with mixing my own colour chalkboard paints but not at the reveal stage yet, it gets glunky too quickly but liking the idea of colours.
Sarah, I love your blog. L-O-V-E it! You are so funny, I wish I could hear your voice. I love listening to people with accents. Mine is just a plain ole Kansas accent, in other words I don’t have one. We’re buried under 2 feet of snow here, hence I’m loving your pics. The suitcase along with everything else you create is darling. I live in a log home so my decor is mountain lodge/cowboy style. Would love to have a cottage to do like yours though. Keep up the great ideas, you must have a million of ‘em.
I love that purple glass,so pretty!
I check your blog Every morning while I have my coffee!! Thanks for starting my day with a smile!!!
I sent you a friend request on FACEBOOK
I liked you on Facebook
i discovered your wonderful blog today, congratulations!!!! i just love your cottage and really enjoyed the before & afters. I feel very inspired i have a number of old vintage suitcases that just might need a lick of white paint, the poor things are in our shed as we have a very small house and dont have any space left i keep looking around to see what i can get rid of for them but nothing can go as it is all essential, one day we will build on so i can bring out all my things and paint them all white and shades of Duck egg blue( my favourite colour at the mo). I havent been able to find anywhere what paint you used for them & feel that i’ve overlooked it somewhere in all the excitement also wondering what finish you put on your white projects i’m thinking of trying Beeswax for the cupboard my hubby made to stand our xmas tree on this year it’s made from MDF and i worry it will mark. cheers and congrats again <3
GIVEAWAY ANTHROPOLOGIE GIFT CARD!!
My bedroom is created to be tropical as it can be in a 1 bedroom apt. I sleep in wonderful colors of sea green and smokey blues. And there’s an old, old quilt that belongs to my husband that is black. lol… Well, it’s cold! And I have a down comforter that has a few stains on it because of a baby cousin. She was just sick and well……accidents happen. lol…Anyway, would love to own something to a lot more more style. Anthropologie has wonderful items for the home, not just clothes and accessories.
P.S. Love the chalkboard case. That’s pretty cool.
Much Love!!!
