Thanks so much for all the lovely comments on my Saturday Club Mission.
I must say you girls are too kind.
This past weekend has been busy, really really busy. I was on bbq duty at 8am on Saturday morning…spent 2 hours cooking sausages, bacon and eggs…while my boys played their boy games and my girl did her thing too…
It pretty much stayed that way all day…and included in the mix just to keep our logistical skills at the fore two kiddies parties and more sport…I scooted home at 5.30, soaked my very sore muscles in the bath and was out in town meeting friends and having tapas and Spanish dancing by 7pm.
Sunday was looking the same…apart from Sunday morning…both the bigger kiddos were not busy until lunchtime and we had wangled a car pooling for the little one…which meant that once he was picked up at 7.30 Mr BC and I lounged in here…..
in fact we lounged in here long after little Mr BC came back…and when he came home he poked his head around the door and asked
‘you still in there?’
When Mr BC and I were first together we used to do this a lot…lounge around with nothing to do, those days seem so very far away now to me…he used to make us a huge platter of nibbles and a tray of drinks and we would just fester….there isn’t often that we don’t do anything anymore…
It was the best, long, languid lay-in I have had for a very long time…we had several cups of tea, biscuits and did nothing…not even read the papers
I did stare at this pillow for a very long time…while I was perusing whether this might overtake the patio door as my new boyfriend Mr BC asked
“is that a new cushion?”
“Pah!” said I
“No, no,no, we’ve had this ages…gosh Mr BC don’t you notice anything?”
mumble and eyebrows
“Funny that” he said
“I swear little Mr BC told me that you were late for soccer practice because the quilt that you have been looking at for 5 months in that little boutique finally put it on sale and he told me that you were so excited that it was half-price that you ran to the bank to get some cash and then ran back as now you were late and when you got in the shop you squealed and did a little jig”
“He asked me if mummies always get so excited about girlie things like that”
“I told him no not all of them do”
I need to have a chat with little Mr BC ;-) tell him about the girl things ;-)
I hope you like it
…not quite sure how I am gonna explain the quilt…it’s not like we don’t already have 6 white quilts stacked up on top of the wardrobe…oh no I mean seven, still haven’t shown you the ruffle one…
Bye for now, I am going somewhere exciting today…tell ya about it soon…
yours in girlie things
