Well hello!
How the devil are you?
All Blog Trolls leave the room please…you asked for it :-) and so here we have another Fashion Friday on Thursday post & I won’t be diggin’ any ‘good face for radio’ comments…
K?
K.
So….what I wore…when in Perth…on the side of a hillside ;-)
no surprises on the jeans front…a new cardi though that I am loving the socks off of…
my shoulders are a challenge when top-half shopping…
I guess we all have a million and one challenges when shopping though right, especially as we are advancing in years, ahem..
I have this friend who has the tiniest top half…but struggles alot everywhere else with weight…when we used to go out as young girls I would sigh at her shoulders…I can spot tiny lovely girlie shoulders a mile off…
so dress shopping (& wearing) is a headache for me, and one of the reasons I wear jeans a lot…I have to try dresses in a size (or two) bigger because of this and then they look like a tent elsewhere…
I have to say dresses are best in this climate as the summer kicks in…cool and cotton dresses are what I lust after and this year I am on a SERIOUS mission to find ones that fit…watch this space…
anyway..this cardigan sits just right…
I bought it in Perth in a mega-cheapie shop…it was hardly not much more than a lipgloss…in fact it was cheaper than the Lancome ones I have stashed about my person….we had gone into the city to have some lunch, do some exploring and go to King’s Park (pictures of that soon) and the boys came across an army supplies store…super-duper-big-yawn…I had more interest in going in there than flying to the moon and so I took off on my own without my purse, only a few dollars in my pocket…and came back with this
jeans : Mavi shoes : Wittner tee : Target scarf : Cotton On bangle : Tiffany sunnies : Target cardigan : Temt
I got this shirt too…I have been after a casual shirt for ages, because there is only so much stripe a woman can take in her life, actually I wanted a white one (which I have now at last found) in cotton…I love white shirts and always have one in the wardrobe but the ones I had were a little dated & greyed…but I couldn’t find one that sat right with the shoulders…I went everywhere…expensive to BigW’s and nothing…
…this is nice because it is drapey…you can tie it or wear it hanging over if you are having a Muffin Top day…plus the arms are loose…so it is comfy and easy and thow-it-on-and-hope-for-the-best-able.…I need that in clothes at this stage of life ;-)
shirt : temt bracelet : equip
I must say I am not a big shopper anymore…when my babies were little I shopped much more than I do now…maybe because my days were longer? Maybe because actually I was shopping for them and not me…nothing better than shopping for cute kiddos clothes…
But when I am an holiday, it feels so much easier to look around and browse…I like going in any old shops…and just mooching around…secretly this holiday I was after a new leather tote…my birthday is around the corner and you must know how much I really and truly need a new leather tote? …it was not to be in Perth though…two cheapie tops it was! so easy to please – Mr BC you just don’t know how lucky you are ;-)
Anyhoo, I gotta run…I am looking for things for little Mr BC’s room makeover…can’t believe how chucking out what seems like a million years worth of old toys and clutter can make such a difference…without even doing anything else!
So long friends

you look beautiful Sarah
I love Tempt too….just the music’s too loud….am I getting old?
x Marnie
i know it was really loud in perth and yes that’s a sign haha….sometimes I go in Supre with my daughter and I am like ‘errrm excuse me, would you mind just turning it down a bit’ roflmao

Cute Shoot lady!!
Thats a fun post Sarah, Im off to brave a Mavi Jeans try on asap – they look like just the ticket for me via your photos – that lovely holiday spot sure makes for a great backdrop too. xx
that shirt is pretty fab too – great shopping Id say !
You look fabulous… your shoulders are lovely and you have such slim thighs….. I don’t remember having slim thighs.. maybe when I was about 17.
I have just discovered Tempt myself.. agree about the music but they have some great items.
Happy shopping xxx

Love the photo shoot! Wish I was brave enough to take a photo from my backside!!! Good job!

Wow, great um… er… behind shots! Seriously though, very helpful tips for a farmgirl with broad shoulders and a horror of dressing up. I’m heading into town with my earplugs to find that cardi….
Very classy Sarah. Loving that cardigan and that shirt plus the backgorund view!!!! I had a laugh at the whole tiny shoulder problem your frined has, it is mine too…sigh Though I don’t hate them, I do show them off a lot in summer with strappless tops and dresses but I have to blance the whole out fit so I don’t look gigantic every where else. You have a lovely shpae to me Sarah, I would much prefer it over mine but hey you gotta do the best with what you got and flaunt it! I made a pact this summer I am going to wear ALL my dresses (99%are cotton) no ifs not buts (love dresses, have well over 30), I’m on the hunt now for some knee length tights, they are prooving hard to find any suggestions?
On a side note… What a wonderful day! I have been humming to the tune of that song from strictly dancing movie – love is in the air..Replacing love with spring and then bursting out in opera style as loud as possible Spring is in the AIR!!!! My daughter has asked me stop being so silly but I can’t help it the cherry blossoms a couple of streets away are full of pink buds that have started to flower! Spring is in the AIRRRRRR!!!! I can’t wait to be warm again!wooohoooo…
O.k I will stop now…. I seriously need to get a life lol!
hmmm, I never thought that having tiny shoulders would make everything else look big…I just always wanted smaller shoulders lol….
I know Spring really is in the air in my garden…I have loads of things budding yippee!

I love the cardigan. it looks good on you!
Never heard of temt……….do they have it in the states? The cardigan is DIVINE!! I love it! I wear them all the time and am always looking for new and different styles. Very drapey……very perfect!
Fun pictures Sarah. I’m glad you are letting us see pictures of you more often, not only is it nice to put a face with a name, but you are lovely. :o)
God bless you dear Sarah, Fi
Great pics, you look great!! Holidays are they best aren’t they! I too have problems with my big shoulders in dresses. Actually even my back is broad. Sales girls are a little perplexed when I say, umm i can’t zip it up. I am also on a quest for a cute dress, that doesn’t make my shoulders(and back) look like a Olympic swimmer!.
Oh and I have three boys and a husband that like Dick Smith and other deathly boring boy shops, which works well for me to wander off on my own. teeheee. ;) jojo3b
Sarah you look great – I have a similar cardigan and I’m going to dig it out today, I’d forgotten I had it. One thing I wanted to ask is about the way you tie your scarves – they always look just right – any chance of a tutorial? I’d love some tips.
Kx
You always look fabulous Sarah!
I only set foot in Temt the other day as I was with a friend and was pleasantly surprised.
After seeing your great buy’s, I will be going for a look this weekend!
Love both the cardigan and the shirt.
You really do know how to style yourself well!
hi there sarah…
firstly- i so get the shoulder thang!!
it’s meant to help make the rest of us look slim- so why do we sometimes feel like swimmers!!??
it’s a small gripe though….
so…i think you look fab!
especially those gorgeous shoulders….lovely in those Perth purchases….
don’t know if anyone else has mentioned it…but it’s so nice to see so many pickies of you these days on your blog…
i remember when i was first following- it was a brilliant home blog…now it’s just that much more personal…
hope you’re enjoying that side of it as much as your bloggy friends are…!?
melissa xx
Ps- we lived in Cottesloe for 2 yrs after we got married- pre-kiddos….beautiful!
Sarah, you look gorgeous (and very relaxed and carefree:) I NEVER would have even noticed your shoulder – even when you had mentioned them I went back and had a look and you look just fine – I’d give my small (ish) shoulders to look half as good as you do in your jeans. Then again, you have earnt it with all those squats and all that walking!!
I like more personal blogs too!
I enjoy blogs with more than just interiors and reading what goes on in life, what people wear everyday, what people eat etc – this has more of that now too which is nice
Sarah, you look as gorgeous as ever! Nel xo
You look gorgeous!! Love the clothes :)
All looks great. I too have the shoulder problem!!! What a pain… too much swimming as a kid or perhaps I was a decent swimmer because of the big shoulders?? Either way, it doesn’t help me now, as I can never wear anything fitted… cute fitted shirts… forget it. I have an adorable 50′s style shirt dress from Anthro, but it’s relegated to the back of the wardrobe, as I’ve put on a few Christmas pounds (yes, I know it’s July)… and so look like an Olympic shot putter squeezed into it!!! Perhaps, I need to scout out some cardies…. Lx
Loooove the cardigan! Your wardrobe is so simple and fits your style perfectly.
I love simple white shirts with jeans too.
Loving this look!!
I love scarf wearing to pull outfits together, love this one, I need another cardigan that’s easywear so great go slip on to hide big shoulders :-)
Can”t believe you have three kiddos with that figure of yours! Embrace your wonderfully broad shoulders…what I wouldn’t give to have them. I am of the tiny shoulders variety which means the straps on my shoulder bag keep falling off of them!! Love your style. It’s jeans and white shirt for me and I live in sunny, HOT Florida.
We all seem to have shopping challenges – mine is feet.
I love the hills in the backdrop
You look absolutely lovely in your pics ! A shot from the rear???? Oh my Id never chance that ! I do love the scarf you have such a knack for tieing them. Mine look like just a wad of fabric when Im finished. I need to improve on that so I can cover this wrinkly 50+ year old neck !
Daughter has issues with broad shoulders and back also. Seems to be an inherited trait from her fathers side. All the female relatives have them. She is also tiny on the bottom and finds that Old Navy and Gap fits her well.
Love the pics ! Tell the trolls to go “suck an egg” !
Sarah Sarah Sarah
You looked gorgeous in all those photos!!! I had to reread the whole shoulder thing to check I read it right. B E L I E V E me you have
N O problems. Everything you wear looks fabulous. I love your style. I have stumbled across TEMT clothes this year and I am impressed but yet to purchase some.
Thanks again for another refreshing lol interlude in my day.
alison x
I have the same problem. Lots of swimming gave me big shoulders but I’ve got almost no butt. Formal dresses are a horror to find. I’ve a wedding to go to on Saturday and still don’t know what I’m going to wear.
Love your style! The cardigan is great…wish I could find it here. And, I’ve been scoring the best scarves at Target and get compliments on them all the time.
Sarah you look fabulous! I think the only thing tiny on me at this stage in my life are my boobs and my wrists. The rest well….we won’t go there. I would never intentionally have someone take a picture of my backside. Although, I have had many tell me that is my greatest asset. No pun intended. I too, love a white shirt as you can usually dress it up or dress it down. I love your style in clothes and of course decorating.
Love the cadre and the background to that photo shoot. Lovely vacation spot.
I don’t see anything wrong with your shoulders…I love that your legs don’t touch at the top….one of my goals in life is to have the same.
Oh, we’re so hard on ourselves aren’t we?
Oh well. love the cardi!
Adorable! i think we have very similiar style! :)
Sarah,
I absolutely love your blog and your pictures. Your taste in clothes is so similar to mine.
I want that cardigan so bad. I am XL (possibly large if it runs big) in US, Is there any way you can get one for me and send me an invoice. I will be glad to pay for your time and effort.
Thanks for all you do!
Cathy
Alrighteethen …aren’t you turn’n into a fashion gal! I love it all…keep on shar’n it. You look great too …we all have flaws …nobody/noth’n is perfect …except maybe my cat.
Lovely cardi and spookily in the pics you look so much like me! Very similar dress sense too – liking your style! :-)
Thank you for the great blog. You’ve inspired me to buy scarves. I’ve always liked the look but felt I was too big to wear them. Anyway I took the plunge and sent you so blog-love! Thanks again! MarchMatron@blogspot.com
Very Cute Sarah, love a scarf in winter! Wish I looked as good as you in jeans!
Is that shirt grey Sarah? Hard to tell exactly.
it is more green/grey x
You look so great. You should tell us how you get that wonderful casual looking hair up-do…
BOYCOTT AMERICAN WOMEN
Why American men should boycott American women
http://boycottamericanwomen.blogspot.com
I am an American man, and I have decided to boycott American women. In a nutshell, American women are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, don’t know how to cook or clean, don’t want to have children, etc. Therefore, what intelligent man would want to get involved with American women?
American women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least.
This blog is my attempt to explain why I feel American women are inferior to foreign women (non-American women), and why American men should boycott American women, and date/marry only foreign (non-American) women.

I think you look beautiful, and your outfits are lovely!
I wear a lot of dresses and skirts, especially as we have temperatures of over 95 degrees for months on end here in north Texas – I don’t wear jeans between about March and November, because it’s too warm to wear them. When I’m dressing casually, I will wear capris or shorts with a simple top.
I would love to have well toned arms – that’s what I’m currently working on – so that I can wear sleeveless dresses, which I haven’t worn since I was in my 20′s. :)
Love your style Sarah – I like to dress very similar these days with two rug rats to run after :) Also, I love Tempt for fashionable budget friendly clothes too :) The place where you stayed in the Perth hills looks lovely. Where is it as we actually live near the beach in Perth and like to drive up into the hills occasionally :)
Marnie, it was near Bundadoon…lovely!
I love the grey cardi! So pretty! Also, I have the shoulder issue as well…..although mine is coupled with a very full bust that makes it next to impossible to find clothes that fit right and don’t cost a fortune. My sister has the very petite top with narrow shoulders I covet….you know, the ones who can wear an extra small on top, and everything fits. (((sigh))) Actually, I think Angelina Jolie has a pretty strong shoulder, as do Catherine Zeta Jones and Cameron Diaz. A wide halter top dress, with straps that cover a larger expanse of chest, can usually work well for strong shoulders. Good luck!
Great, fun post, but I’m having too much fun laughing at the comment for “boycotting American women and advertising Indian women!” Is that spam or someone for real? Too much!
Keep these posts coming! Great read as all of your posts are!
Melissa
That is a perfect traveling outfit. I wish I could find a cardigan that cute for a few dollars where I live. By the way, I’m envious of your winter weather. We have feet of snow instead of rain. What do they say…the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence.
Wow, can’t believe I missed all these. We were away, summer hols. Seriously though, fantastic comes to mind. Beautiful. You look amazing. I agree, great photographer and the model is just lovely. xx
