An unmade bed...horror! Just joshin'! I like you already. My bed is unmade most days. I am also like you describe yourself in the morning. Give me a yummy French Vanilla Coffee and I'm good to go. Trouble is, I haven't found any of my favorite brand since I moved to Brissy two years ago from Michigan, America. I know, I know, try something new...okay, but I may be a little grumpy in the meantime. I hope you'll understand.

School holidays are meant to be relaxing and a nice change of routine. Ours have just finished and as much as I enjoy the change I also enjoy having the kids back at school so I can play in the studio... in peace!!

By the way Sarah... your bedroom looks awesome with a made or an unmade bed - lucky you.
Hugs ~ Kerryanne

Hi, I to need my caffeine (for me coffee) in the morning...but for some reason I have always been a morning person and get up around 5 am....but you don't really want to talk to me after 9:30 pm...I am not at my best then! Love the unmade bed look! Take care, Caroline

Actually , I'm a morning person AND a night bird....I don't get very grumpy but I think it's a genetic thing as none of my family do......don't always make the bed either.....I think that if you turn back the covers it gives it a good airing....That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it !!!!!!!

How come your room still looks good when the beds not made???
Enjoy the school holidays.
Alison

Let's swap... Ill relax at the beach and you can go to work for me ! I too dont always make my bed but don't tell anyone....

My bed stays unmade for several hours in the mornings to air it out. I have to make my bed eventually or my doggie will make it her nest.

If my bed was as gorgeous as yours I would not want to get out of it either. Love the photos of your beautiful beach cottage.

What a gorgeous bed! I don't make mine because I don't want to disturb a cat...pathetic excuse I know but life revolves around the animals here. :P

Sarah, your unmade bed still looks so glamorous and elegant, how wonderful it sounds to be able to go to the beach surfing in winter, when here we are lucky to get out to sea in the summer! My photos look positively grey beside yours, still I guess we are lucky to have so much green here. Sounds like you are making the most of the holidays though. Enjoy the rest and relaxation, I don't do mornings well either so I fully understand your sentiments, Hugs, Margie.

I'm with you Sarah, not a morning person at all! And my problem is I am a night owl, so getting up for work... is work in it's self. Enjoy your rest from mornings!! Julie

I love this...none of us sisters are morning people...almost zombies in the morning! Making the bed is the last thing on the mind!!! ;)

m ^..^

I like to believe that is one of the reasons we have doors on our bedrooms, some days beds just go unmade. If I had a beach cottage I'm certain my bed would go unmade quite often :)

Sarah,

With a bed that cozy looking, I would have a hard time getting up too! I totally get what you are saying about your tea. I am the same way. I drink it both hot and cold and have to have it on hand. If we go out of town, I stuff my purse with teabags for the worry our hotel may not have them. LOL!
Oh, the pepper jack cheese I refered to on my blog, it is also called monteray jack, but the pepper jack variety has small jalepenos and peppers cut up into the cheese. It's wonderful and great also in a mexican dish. Hope that helps!
HAve a wonderful holiday, my friend!

I am definitely not the bed maker around here, and it's not only because I get up before the guy does, but I have never been that person. It's strange, because I am such a neat-freak otherwise. But the bed ... meh.

Your bed is beautiful made or unmade....me I need my bed made when I get out...I hate to walk by and see it unmade...but yours looks nice!

Your day sounds wonderful ... school holiday and coffee on the beach!

What a great picture and a sheer definition of VACATION! Love it! Thanks for being the blog hop sponsor ... it was fun to read 3 things about you - those 3 things are about me too - subtract the tea and add caribou coffee!!!

Have agreat day!
Rebekah in MN!

Nice theme an unmade bed is sort of homely.

I've given up on making my bed because the girls chuck all the covers off to jump on it!!! Yours does look cosy though!

Mel x

I rarely make the bed, but don't tell anyone, okay? Your room looks pretty in all white (and no clutter!).

With such a lovely unmade bed - I would be tempted to crawl back in!

I usually let my dh make our bed - he says I don't do it properly! - Am I going to argue? He actually injured a tendon in his hand while making our bed last year (tucking in the sheets - not physically assembling it!)- he had to have it strapped up for 6 weeks!!! I must confess I laughed :)

OMG, If I had a bed that looked that comfy...I'd never leave either!

XOXO

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I totally agree with you on the "bigger lamps" on the entry table. I will have to look into find some cute ones.

Your website is fabulous and so creative. I will have to keep stopping by to get more ideas!

You mean there are people in the world who actually make their beds on a daily basis? Ha -- I'm not one of them! I'm visiting from California via this week's Blog Hop. :) On August 1, I'll be hosting a new meme called Small World Saturday. I hope that you'll join the fun!

Glad to hear your human afterall. I was beginning to think you were a myth. Thanks for being real.

It's SO comforting to know that I'm not the only one who is NOT a morning person, that needs great motivation to get out of bed AND that has an unmade bed half of the week. :)

Hugs,
Rachel

Oh my hell! Even your unmade bed is gorgeous! :P

Have a great day!

You have such a gorgeous site!! Thanks for being a sponsor this week!

Love all of the white and the unmade bed makes it look so relaxing! Great blog.

Hey Sara; Wow wish my un made bed looked like yours; I have days where I don't make it, but most of the time I do. Now when I don't make it, I do before we go to bed, that drives my hubby nuts, lol but I can't seem to get into an unmade bed even to sleep. Oh and after it is made, no one is allowed to get in it or muss it up.... that drives my whole family nuts... lol I love it.......... but really I do love you bed room, I am not a morning person either. Your day sounds so lovely, enjoy your week.

Hugs;
Alaura

Ha - yesterday I caught site of my unmade bed, with the light streaming onto it, all fluffed up and scrunchy and thought about climbing back in there or taking a photo, but alas I didn't do either..I finished my lunch and went back to work - hurumph.

Hi! I'm at the Hop today and stopped by to get to know you better. I hope that you'll find the time to visit me, too!

Hoppin in to say hi :).

Ah! The school holidays.... enter slow, I'll do it when I'm ready mornings and not getting dressed until 'later'.
Boys spending all the time they like making Lego, running around outside, jumping on the trampoline until they're exhausted, lunch around 2.00 p.m.
As for beds! I don't go in the room until its time for bed again ;) We all need some slow down time don't we.
ps. cute bunting! Inspired me to do some too - thanks
Irene x

Hi Sarah,

I stumbled across your blog and am so glad that I did. What a lovely place to visit!!

Your too funny about the bed; mine would never get made if it wasn't for the hubby ;) Enjoy your summer holiday!

Feel free to stop by my place sometime.

Chat soon,
Sharon

Hi Sarah
Why is it you seem to be able to get away with unmade beds when you have white?

My daughter explained to me the reason she doesn't make her bed is because she was watching a TV programe on "Time Management" and on the very top of the list of waste of time things we do is "Making Beds"....??? has anyone else heard of that one?

Anyway I think your bedroom looks perfect - as in because it doesn't look perfect that's why it looks fabulous!

Even your unmade bed looks beautiful. I must admit, I hate having an unmade bed & so it has to be made all nice everyday! Although there will still be clothes on the ottoman at the end of the bed or in a bastket waiting to be put away!!!
love
Alison

a good time of year to laze around the house in the morning and drink tea, i agree!

Your un-made bed made me laugh at myself. I adore making my bed in the mornining and piling on the pillows, so much so, one time my husband got up to go to the bathroom and I made the bed. First of all, I thought he was up for the day, little did I know he still wanted to sleep. Well, that certainly made his day start earlier!!! Love your stories and your wonderful home. Susan

Nothing like a bit of a late morning lay in the beautiful winter sunshine of the tropics.

Have fun with the beach kiddo's over the hols !

Too funny. I am old school and just MUST make ours every morning. I don't know why - just have to. Must be my Mom coming through, you think?
Great post! HAGD! Karen

But your bed is so pretty unmade. I would want to stay all day in that bed too. I have learned that if I make my bed right when I get out, then I won't sneak back into it...and I will get on with the day...though I do like to stay in my white lace-trimmed jammies till as long as possible, sometimes all day.

G'day, welcome to my cottage by the sea, in a bustly little seaside town in Australia.
We found our fixer-upper cottage in a very sad state about a year ago, here you'll find our journey to renovate, makeover and decorate in a laid-back country coastal style.

We surf through life in our tatty old fixer-upper cottage with surfboards on the deck, old weathered furniture and lots of sandy feet...
I love all things vintage especially old pieces of neglected furniture with that faded patina only time can bring. I scour the beach-side suburbs for one-off vintage pieces and make it over with a distinctive whitewash that unites that old beach house ambiance with a fresh new feel.

I love vintage quilts, seashells, old outdoor furniture, white cotton, Adirondack chairs, Peroni, nautical stripes, vanilla, bare floorboards, lavender, home-cooked food, wicker baskets and pots of Australian tea.
I try to get away with doing the school run in my pj's and I have a pathological love for vintage china...
