It was crazy hot today even in Sydney! Its just after 9pm and its still in the mid 30's. would be nice to be closer to the ocean on days like this (LUCKY you indeed!)

It was a hot day in Sydney, did you enjoy the racing events? It is a fun time of year particularly if you enjoy wearing a hat.

it's still hot and it's nearly 10pm!!!

I didn't wear a hat this time

but

I found this year, my fourth Melbourne Cup I finally got it and felt the buzz...love it!

Great feature for a very deserving blog! And I'm totally coveting the deep aqua water. Someday I WILL move to a warmer clime. Thanks for sharing!

Sounds like you have found a wonderful place to live, how nice for you and your family. It is so important to love where you live, outside as well as inside. Have a wonderful day, Cindy S.

Congrats on the Apartment Therapy Feature! Ahhh..the beach looks so good! We're heading into winter but it's still really warm in California!

Beautiful pictures. It's so interesting reading about Spring ending for you as our weather is getting colder. Well, not too cold yet, but it will be soon. We're having unseasonably warm weather. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Marcia

How lovely to see your beautiful home on AT! A breath of fresh air! :-)

Oh great AT feature! loving the weather warming up over this way too.

Congrats on the feature, well done. I like it when it warms up, but also a bit worried the roses will get toasted as well.

Congrats on your feature over at Apartment Therapy! Very cool (and well deserved).

It's so cold and rainy here today, so it's nice to see those lovely, sunny photos of the water. :)

Sounds like the perfect Cup Day

G'day, welcome to my cottage by the sea, in a bustly little seaside town in Australia.
We found our fixer-upper cottage in a very sad state about a year ago, here you'll find our journey to renovate, makeover and decorate in a laid-back country coastal style.

We surf through life in our tatty old fixer-upper cottage with surfboards on the deck, old weathered furniture and lots of sandy feet...
I love all things vintage especially old pieces of neglected furniture with that faded patina only time can bring. I scour the beach-side suburbs for one-off vintage pieces and make it over with a distinctive whitewash that unites that old beach house ambiance with a fresh new feel.

I love vintage quilts, seashells, old outdoor furniture, white cotton, Adirondack chairs, Peroni, nautical stripes, vanilla, bare floorboards, lavender, home-cooked food, wicker baskets and pots of Australian tea.
I try to get away with doing the school run in my pj's and I have a pathological love for vintage china...
