G'day sweeties! I'm over at Apartment Therapy today, pop over and have a look...!
Phew it's been hot here today, 39C and while I love it warming up, I'm sad to see the back of Spring. Before we came here we heard lots about how wonderful Spring was Down Under and that is so correct...everywhere you look the trees are blossoming, bundles of vibrant flowers and the temp just how I like it...perfect for jeans, sandals and t-shirts...
So, today was Melbourne Cup, (if you're stopping by from the UK, it's a bit like the Grand National, only a million times bigger)...everyone dresses up and parties...restaurants are full, everyone puts on a bet...it's the celebration that 'stops the nation'...
I met some friends down the beach and then we went to one of their houses for a lovely spread...chicken...salad...sushi...champagne.
A nice way to while away a few hours...I thought you might like to see the pics...and no I don't say this to show-off or any such thing, more because I am very grateful on days like today for our seachange, for great new friends and just having this now as everyday life.
It gets me every time.
I'm tired now, in the study with the Glory Box, it's still hot, I'm very much sun toasted, showered and popped a beer.

It was crazy hot today even in Sydney! Its just after 9pm and its still in the mid 30's. would be nice to be closer to the ocean on days like this (LUCKY you indeed!)

It was a hot day in Sydney, did you enjoy the racing events? It is a fun time of year particularly if you enjoy wearing a hat.

it's still hot and it's nearly 10pm!!!
I didn't wear a hat this time
but
I found this year, my fourth Melbourne Cup I finally got it and felt the buzz...love it!

yesterday i packed away the linen sheets & replaced them with flannel sheets & an electric blanket. thanks for sharing the beautiful views because it made my morning a little warmer. wish i was there! and as always i love the photos of your home. ruby
