Looks like lots of fun, what beautiful scenery.

You're a classic! And how great it must be living by the sea.

HA! Budgies? Oh, I cannot stop laughing. Too funny.

Its award night at my blog, do pop over for a visit!

Hi sarah...awesome video...
YEP..this is definately the BEST country goin!! (bit biased being a 5th gen aussie!!)..

gotta love the "bums"!!!

very hot here in melbourne...so may go & check out some local "bums" myself!! lol..

xx andrea

the water looks inviting! thanks for sharing life at the beach aussie style. ruby

Thank you for sharing. I love catching glimpses of your life there in Australia. Both my boys swim and sometimes wear speedos...never heard of "budgies", love it.

If a budgie is a speedo...I agree. In Cali if someone is wearing one, he is really old, or really "not from here"! Those Aussie's do take their ocean seriously, don't they! What fun to watch!

m ^..^

Quite the athletic bunch. I'm curious... what, please, is the origination of the term *budgie*?

Thoroughly enjoyed this - your stills are great, the video awesome...........that water sure looks freezing, hope they have big thick towels to wrap round those goosebumpy bums!!!

Happy weekend in the sun.

Ooh, too bad I couldn't look at the video. I'm in Germany and it said I couldn't watch due to copyright laws...whatever. Very nice pics though...gotta love the thighs! Wish we had some of that warmth! Guess I'll have to make a trip down under one day!
Cheers,
Siggie

Love the photos and video, Sarah, and nothing like watching our great lifesavers go through their paces. You'll have to do it again on a sunny summer day to show us all. Yes, we're SO lucky living here by the ocean. For those not in the know the term is 'budgie smugglers' and I'll let you work that one out!

Love it!!! I couldn't see your son's surfing clip...it wouldn't let me click on it.

At first I thought all that pink flesh was sunburn, but now I see how well-wrapped all the spectators are, I guess it might be the cold! They are wonderfully unselfconscious in their skimpy kit...

'Budgie smugglers' indeed...

And thank you Sarah for sharing Aussie men's bums with us even though we know it's not what you want to share ;-)

Wow, a lot of brawn and muscle there! That water is so sparkly and pretty and welcoming. You are so lucky to be able to walk near that idyllic a place, Sarah.
Brenda

Love it when you post pics of old boy buns! Thanks, An old gal

made my day - wow did I laugh!~loved all the men in speedos, loved how one hiked his up. I live in Canada and we are heading into the winter months, so you can imagine how lovely it is to see warmth! Please shoot another movie on the beach in February ~ it seems to be the coldest month of all.

Love the blog -

not sure where it comes from but yeah I forgot in England we call them 'Speedos'

put it this way somewhere in there is a budgie!!!!

Oh those are great...especially the men's bottoms...ha!! Have a great weekend.

You know Speedos started in Australia don't you?

Hello from Middle Georgia. Loved the video, but you didn't give credit for the music. Would like to know who...

no sooner did i mention how i would like to see you do your home video did i find beach cottage TV. awesome!!

i need to settle in here for a good long read/watch. darn it, it's 1AM EST in the states.

Wow!
Looks like a serious race!
Favorite...is the man in the GREEN...tank top & Speedo!

Pictures are nicely taken. Thanks for sharing.

G'day, welcome to my cottage by the sea, in a bustly little seaside town in Australia.
We found our fixer-upper cottage in a very sad state about a year ago, here you'll find our journey to renovate, makeover and decorate in a laid-back country coastal style.

We surf through life in our tatty old fixer-upper cottage with surfboards on the deck, old weathered furniture and lots of sandy feet...
I love all things vintage especially old pieces of neglected furniture with that faded patina only time can bring. I scour the beach-side suburbs for one-off vintage pieces and make it over with a distinctive whitewash that unites that old beach house ambiance with a fresh new feel.

I love vintage quilts, seashells, old outdoor furniture, white cotton, Adirondack chairs, Peroni, nautical stripes, vanilla, bare floorboards, lavender, home-cooked food, wicker baskets and pots of Australian tea.
I try to get away with doing the school run in my pj's and I have a pathological love for vintage china...
