Vintage Door, Beach Cottage Wreath & Fighting for Christmas Baubles

 

I like this wreath.  

I like the silveriness and the whiteness.  

I like the fluffiness and sphereness.  

I like the hint of tinseliness. 

You know what I like the most? 

The priceiness.

  

Very modern I know but a bit of juxtaposition works and is needed sometimes in tatty old beach cottages on the wrong side of town

When I was here dangling in the delight of Christmas Budget Nordic style I didn't really know what to choose first.  With bored males around too, it was a task not for the faint of heart. 

There was (and probably still is if you are quick) a whole range of this white and silvery stuff, right up my alley and ready to come home with me straight away. 

And right in the middle of this whole glittery Christmas department was a huge pile of the loveliest largest baubles, silver with white polka dots.  Lovely, just lovely and I thought I'd buy a few and hang them outside...the deck or the porch or perhaps even from a tree. 

Something else then caught my eye and I turned my back.  Five minutes or so later I got back to the baubles and to my utter horror saw two young girls piling the last one into their full-up-with-the-silver-baubles trolleys.  

I stood there with my jaw dropped, these two girls had just scooped up the whole inventory.  

Every single one was gone.  

Next to me was another gobstruck bauble-needing gal, looking, like me, with daggers at these two...I turned to her and said that perhaps if one of us made a commotion the other one could swiftly delve into one of their trolleys and steal a few away. 

She laughed, but it was a kinda grim laugh and told me of her plans to hang them in differing lengths from her verandah. 

We stood there deliberating but truly there was nothing we could do. 

Moral of the story:  Apply snatch and grab vintage treasure hunting skills to all areas of life. 

 

 

So, should you be on your pilgrimage to IKEA and see those large balls ;-), firstly get them in your trolley posthaste and secondly throw in a few more for me.  

I'd love to get my hands on some :-) to hang around and about outside...

Hope karma kicked in and the girls dropped all the baubles on concrete and ended up with silver bauble dust!! They were just plain greedy!!

This TOTALLY happened to us. Mr. Shorehouse was hemming and hawing over how many boxes of lights he needed, and picked up only one while he thought about it. Wouldn't you know, someone swooped in and grabbed EVERY SINGLE BOX was he was still "thinking." I told him, "scoop now, think later!" His new mantra. :-)

I love your wreath! And I think, "Gobstruck Bauble-Needing Gal" should be the title of your autobiography, lol!
